From Xmas Coal to Holiday Miracles

I have a bit of whiplash but no complaints.

Current news is that my two pre-surgery tests, a petscan and a resist reading of the inital scan, both seem to show no new disease, no active disease and, certainly, disease stability. I have not talked these through with my doctor and wont be able to anytime in the near future. Instead, I accept that for right now we have incredibly positive news to enjoy. No surgery. No crisis. I just booked my flight to return to treatment like none of the drama ever happened.

It was quite fun breaking the news to my mother. I guess I wont worry about whether she likes her real christmas gift.image

About marcy westerling

I am a long time community organizer with a passion for justice and founded the Rural Organizing Project in 1992. Derailed by a Stage IV Ovarian Cancer diagnosis in spring 2010, I have stayed in treatment since then. I am learning how to embrace livingly dying and hope that by starting a Phase One immunology clinical trial at UPenn in spring of 2013 I will have more time to find the sweet spots of thriving while terminally ill.
